Updated October 17, 2026. Planning a visit to SeaWorld San Diego? There are several legitimate ways to buy admission, but a city pass is not automatically cheaper than a single-park ticket. The best choice depends on how many other attractions you will actually visit.
Three booking routes worth comparing
| Option | What it may fit | What to check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| SeaWorld’s own tickets | You plan to visit SeaWorld only, or want a park-specific offer. | Your exact visit date, admission type, parking, add-ons and any restrictions. |
| San Diego CityPASS | You want SeaWorld together with other San Diego attractions. | Choose a CityPASS package that specifically includes SeaWorld; review the other included attractions and reservation rules. |
| Go City San Diego | You want to compare several attractions or sightseeing days. | SeaWorld is listed in the Essentials Pass attraction choices and All-Inclusive Pass Plus. Do not assume the standard All-Inclusive Pass includes SeaWorld. |
When is a San Diego pass actually worth it?
Start with your real itinerary, not a headline savings percentage. Write down SeaWorld plus the two or three other places you would definitely visit, then compare the combined direct-ticket total against the final pass price for the same travelers and dates. If you only want SeaWorld, a bundle may add attractions you will not use. If you already plan to visit several eligible attractions, a pass is worth checking.
Pay attention to details that often get overlooked: age bands, reservation requirements, activation rules, opening hours, parking and optional upgrades. Availability and pricing can change, and not every package includes the same attractions.
Example: a two-day San Diego itinerary
Day one: Allow a full day for SeaWorld and check the park’s opening hours before setting your arrival time. Day two: Choose another attraction you genuinely want to visit, rather than adding stops merely to justify the pass. Check whether your selected pass covers that venue on the planned date.
