What happened
Storm Adam has disrupted air travel in the Balearic Islands. Palma de Mallorca Airport reported more than 150 delayed flights, while Mallorca and Ibiza airports together recorded 64 cancellations.
Why travelers should care
Delays and cancellations at these hubs can affect inbound and outbound services across Europe, creating missed connections, late arrivals and possible changes to onward ground transport and reservations. Passengers traveling to or from Mallorca or Ibiza in the coming hours or days should expect possible disruption.
Who is affected
Passengers with flights to, from or connecting through Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza airports are most directly affected. Travelers with tight connections, same-day onward travel plans, or time-sensitive bookings (ferries, tours, car hires) are at higher risk of disruption.
What to do next
Check your flight status directly with your airline and with the airport you’re using before leaving for the terminal. If your flight is cancelled or significantly delayed, review your airline’s rebooking or refund policy. Allow extra time for airport transfers and be prepared for changes to ground transport schedules.
Practical precautions
Keep digital boarding passes and reservation confirmations readily accessible, set up airline notifications, and contact your accommodation or tour operator if you expect a late arrival. If you have travel insurance, review the policy’s coverage for weather-related disruptions.
Situation may evolve
Weather-related airport disruption can change quickly. Monitor official airline and airport communications for real-time updates and follow local authorities’ travel advice.
